The Lord of the Rings: The Confrontation is a two-player strategy game in which one player takes the side of the Dark Lord Sauron, while the other represents the intrepid Fellowship of the Ring.

Via hidden movement, clever card play and bluffing, the Fellowship seeks to advance Frodo Baggins to Mordor to destroy the One Ring, while Sauron seeks to capture the Ring: the only thing the Dark Lord needs to dominate the lands of Middle-earth.
